We woke at 4:30 am the next day for an early breakfast and then a bus back up to Machu Picchu. The idea is that people head up to the ruins to see the Sun rise over the mountains and illuminate the Incan town.
Unfortunately ...
1. Everybody does this so the question for the buses and the entrance are slow, long and crowded
2. It was raining so the Sun wasn't visible anyway!

Despite this we had a fascinating time exploring the city and seeing things like a kite shaped rock orientated to the Southern Cross.
After a morning exploring we caught the bus back down and then later caught the train back to Ollantaytambo to collect our main luggage. Finally a coach returned us to Cusco.
