We headed out to restaurants near the "cat park" that we had seen earlier in the day. Everywhere was busy and lively and it was only after we had seen several restaurants with big screen TVs that we realised there was some big football match on! All the restaurants were set up for people to watch the big game.
We eventually found a quieter chicken restaurant which only had a medium sized TV and lots of empty seats outside. We found a quiet spot and ordered our food - which arrived swiftly.
As we were tucking in a crowd of young men carrying drums and welding flares walked across the road. Obviously fans but busy with making noise rather than watching the game. They regrouped just a few metres from where we were sitting. Then they began playing their drums...
Then playing their trumpet...
Then singing...
All good hearted, exuberant and really musical. Before long a crowd had gather to hear the men play and sing.
And so we are with live Peruvian music and a show! They continued for at least half an hour and dispersed just as we finished.
Great fun 😁
